Black Alumni Advisory Council
Mississippi State University Alumni Association Black Alumni Advisory Council stands as a representative body comprised of graduates, former students, and friends of Mississippi State University.
THE COUNCIL HAS AS ITS PRINCIPAL MISSION:
- Act as a forum for MSU alumni and friends and an advisory group to the Mississippi State University Alumni Association conveying the Black alumni perspective to the Association from a variety of backgrounds and locations which will assist the Association in engaging, informing, and serving MSU’s graduates and advancing Mississippi State University.
- To provide volunteer leadership, advocacy, and generate funding to create, develop, and/or sponsor programs, services, and events in partnership with the MSU Alumni Association to serve MSU alumni and friends and increase their interest in and support of Mississippi State University.
- Support current and future students and the University through the endowment of scholarships and the development of other resources.
- Promote and encourage scholastic excellence, career success, participation in University life, and social involvement/inclusion by mentoring and networking for undergraduate students by graduates, former students and friends and to encourage them to develop a lifelong connection with their university.
- To encourage alumni and friends to become active Alumni Association members through annual financial support of MSU, attending events, and volunteering on behalf of the University and Alumni Association and pursue leadership roles within the Alumni Association’s and University’s volunteer network.
- Promote the diversity of the MSU campus community and foster positive relationships between the University, alumni, future alumni and friends. This will include recruiting and working with and through the Mississippi State University Alumni Recruiting Network (ARN).
- To assist the Alumni Association in achieving its mission of serving, involving, and informing our alumni, current and future students, and friends of the university.
