Ring Days FAQ

What are MSU Ring Days?

Ring Days is a time on campus that is specifically set aside for purchasing your class ring in person. You can view all ring designs, be sized and ask any questions about the various ring options. A Balfour representative and a staff member of the MSU Alumni Association will be present.

If I don’t want to participate in the Ring Ceremony, can I still purchase a ring? Yes, you do not have to participate in the Ring Ceremony; although, we strongly encourage partaking in this memorable event!

Do I have to be a current MSU student to purchase a ring? Undergraduate students who have completed 60 credit hours, transfer students who have completed 30 MSU credit hours, and alumni who have completed undergraduate or graduate requirements are eligible and invited to purchase a class ring.

If I’m not a senior, can I purchase a ring? Yes. Undergraduate students who have completed 60 credit hours and transfer students who have completed 30 MSU credit hours are eligible and invited to purchase a class ring.

If I missed Ring Days, can I still purchase a ring? Yes. To purchase a class ring, place an order by going to the website balfour.com/msstate. However, to participate in the Ring Ceremony, your ring will need to be purchased before the deadline for the ceremony scheduled for that semester.

How can I find my ring size? There are several ways to go about finding your ring size. One option is to go to a jewelry store and ask them to size you. The second is to print out Balfour's guide here and size yourself at home. The third is to visit us at Ring Days, where we will help you determine your best ring size. And lastly, you are welcome to stop by the Alumni Association during our office hours to check your ring size at any time. No matter which option you pick, make sure the finger you are sizing is the finger you plan to wear your ring on.

What are my ring options, how expensive is the class ring, and do I have to pay for it all at once? There are three different collections, multiple metal options, and the ability to engrave the inside of your ring! All of these, except engraving, factor into the cost of an individual's ring. Balfour does offer a payment plan to split your purchase into three payments. You can build your ring at balfour.com/msstate.

What personalized information am I allowed to put on my ring? Most of our collections allow for two personalized options—your graduation year and degree letters OR Greek letters. Clubs and student organizations are not an option. If you do not know your degree letters, see our Degree Letter Cheat Sheet below.

Does my ring have to be purchased from Balfour? Companies other than Balfour are not allowed to use the Mississippi State University name or seal on their rings, although it is possible to find companies or private vendors who will do so. Only students who order an official Mississippi State University Class Ring through Balfour will automatically receive an invitation to participate in the Ring Ceremony.

Can I order a ring after the Ring Ceremony order deadline? Absolutely! For rings purchased after the Ring Ceremony deadline, your ring will be delivered directly to the address listed when ordering online.

If I lose my ring, can I replace it with a new one? For any lost or stolen rings, contact Balfour Customer service at 1-800-BALFOUR (800-225-3687).

I have more questions. Who should I reach out to?
