Kelsey Barnes

Hometown: Union City, Tenn.

Degree: Agricultural Science

Occupation: Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Agriculture at the U.S. Department of Agriculture

Barnes guest lectures at MSU and credits the university for shaping her career. She also advocates for cerebral palsy and stroke research on behalf of her son. From farm roots to federal leadership, Barnes exemplifies the service and innovation fostered at Mississippi State.   

Jonathan Boyd

Hometown: Pearl, Miss.

Occupation: Retail Banking Regional President for Huntington Bank's MidSouth Region

Boyd credits Mississippi State with equipping him to thrive in a competitive industry, and he continues to pay that investment forward by championing financial literacy, opportunity and the Bulldog family across the Mid-South.  

Jack Chope

Crista Cooper

Guided by MSU’s values of service, integrity and excellence, Cooper continues to champion meaningful progress in the Mississippi Delta by fostering community pride and creating spaces where people feel connected and at home.

Demonterius Dorsey

Recognized as a Future Principal Institute Fellow and recipient of a State of Texas math achievement award, Dorsey continues to exemplify Mississippi State’s commitment to service, leadership, and expanding educational opportunity for every student in his care. 

Austin Flint

Flint’s enduring connection to MSU and his commitment to service reflect a lifelong pursuit of using knowledge to improve communities and inspire future leaders.   

Marissa Landon Follin

Occupation: Human Resources Manager and Corporate Director of Communications and Human Resources at the Claxton Poultry plant  

At Mississippi State, Follin served as secretary and vice president of the Public Relations Student Society of America, was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, served as a communication ambassador, and received a Gold Congressional Award. She is actively involved in her community, including leadership roles within the Public Relations Association of Mississippi and serving on the Laurel Main Street Board.  

Parker Glass

Occupation: Lead Management and Program Analyst at NASA's Kennedy Space Center 

At Mississippi State, Glass was an active member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and supported campus and Greek life philanthropic initiatives. As an alumnus, he remains engaged through the MSU Bulldog Mentor Program, where he mentors students pursuing careers in the space industry.  

Donae Gooden

Hometown: Jackson, Tenn.

Occupation: Human Resources Manager for The J.M. Smucker Company 

Gooden remains an active alumni supporter and internship provider. Her work has earned recognition, including the Greater Memphis Chamber’s Next Gen Award, a nomination for the SHRM-Memphis HR Professional of the Year award, and top honors in Vista Data’s AI and Data Analytics Micro-Credentialing Program. Gooden’s career demonstrates a lasting commitment to inclusive leadership, community uplift and environments where people feel valued and empowered.   

Bree Hester

Katelyn Jackson

Matthew Kimbrough

At MSU, Kimbrough served as president of Alumni Delegates, participated in Freshman Forum and held leadership roles within Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a recipient of the Spirit of State Award and the Freshman Highest Grade Point Average Award in the Department of Agricultural Economics. 

Katie Kronk

Karly McCoy

Occupation: Social Media and Public Relations Manager for Howard Industries 

Her commitment to mentorship is evident in her seven-year alumnae advisory service with Phi Mu at Mississippi State, guiding recruitment, mentoring student leaders, and liaising with national and university chapters. Grounded in a multigenerational MSU legacy, she continues to advance communication strategies that connect people, strengthen communities, and drive meaningful impact across Mississippi.   

Rachel McFalls-Brown

Hometown: Brandon, Miss.

Degree: Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering with Research in Engineering Education ​​​​​​​
Current City: Palmdale, Calif. ​​​​​​​
Occupation: Senior Flight Test Engineer at Joby Aviation 

Brown remains actively involved in the engineering community through national service, including the board of directors of the Society of Flight Test Engineers and trustee of Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity. She also volunteers with the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Vintage Aircraft Association, supporting flightline operations at Oshkosh AirVenture and teaching high school students about flight test engineering through a joint SFTE–AIAA–EAA aviation education program. 

Justin E. Samuels

Hometown: Bridgeport, Conn.

Degree: Business Administration degree in Management Information Systems

Occupation: Founder and CEO of RenderATL 

Samuels leads Silicon South, expanding access to STEM education and mentorship, and serves on the Morris Brown College Foundation board and the MSU College of Business advisory board. His honors include Inc.’s 30 Under 30-ish, Technology Leader of the Year from the Technology Association of Georgia (2025), Atlanta Magazine’s Most Influential 500, Black Enterprise 40 Under 40, and a 2024 City of Atlanta proclamation. 

Philippe Schicker

Hometown: Hamburg, Germany

Degree: Mechanical Engineering 
Current City: New York City, N.Y. ​​​​​​​
Occupation: Senior Associate and Team Lead for Power and Capacity at Noreva 

At Mississippi State, Schicker helped establish the university’s first staffed campus food pantry and played a key role in organizing the university’s first campus climate marches. He remains engaged with the Bulldog community through alumni events and mentoring students interested in energy, analytics and sustainability.    

Ian Scroubelos

Occupation: Camp Shelby RMA and MSARNG OCS Commander 

Scroubelos stays engaged with the Bulldog family through Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and MSU Alumni Association Gulf Coast Chapter events. In his distinguished career, he has earned many honors, including induction into the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara. He embodies Mississippi State University’s values of character, perseverance, and service to others.   

Mari Micci Shannon

Hometown: Cleveland, Miss. 
Graduation year: 2014

Current City: Cleveland, Miss. 
Occupation: Assistant Professor of Nursing and the Undergraduate Program Coordinator at Delta State University 

As a student, Shannon was a member of Alumni Delegates, Maroon VIP, the Student Association Executive Cabinet, Freshman Forum, Lambda Sigma, and Delta Gamma sorority. She is a member of the Bolivar County Alumni Chapter and holds leadership roles in multiple professional and civic organizations, including Junior Auxiliary of Cleveland, where she recently served as Children’s Benefit Ball chair. Her honors include being named Mississippi State’s Freshman Maid on the Homecoming Court, receiving Junior Auxiliary of Cleveland’s Award of Excellence for the most service hours and being recognized as a Delta Business Journal Top Young Professional.  

Meme Staggers

Hometown: Meridian, Miss.

Degree: Bachelor of Science degree in Educational Psychology, a Master of Science degree in Psychometry, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in School Psychology ​​​​​​​
Current City: Starkville, Miss. ​​​​​​​
Occupation: Assistant Professor in the Applied Behavior Analysis program at Mississippi State University 

At MSU, Staggers serves as the chapter advisor for mental health and well-being for the Kappa Delta sorority and supervises graduate clinicians at the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Clinic. Her honors include peer-reviewed publications, the David Morse Dissertation Award, the Mississippi State University Office of Research and Economic Development Award, and the Dr. R. Thomas McKnight Scholarship.    

Lee Thorne

Hometown: Luka, Miss.

Occupation: General Counsel at First South Farm Credit   

Honored with multiple leadership awards, Thorne serves his community as a church deacon and volunteer. MSU’s influence remains central to his life and work, advancing rural prosperity.   

Kelly Turner

Turner is also a dedicated Mississippi State alumna, serving in leadership roles with the MSU Alumni Association and organizing outreach events.  Recognized for academic and community excellence, Turner credits MSU’s mentorship and education for shaping her holistic, patient-centered nursing leadership. 

Amoni Washington

Brooke B. Williams
