From One Queen To Another
Dear Abigail,
I am so proud of you, and I’m excited for you to experience the immense joy that being Homecoming Queen at Mississippi State University will bring! When I think back over my 4 years at MSU, having the opportunity to be crowned Homecoming Queen is undoubtedly one of my fondest memories. The love and support I felt from my Bulldog family during this experience was truly amazing, and I am confident that you will feel the same way. I felt as though it was the culmination of all of the wonderful experiences I had been given while at State, and it was a time for me to express my deepest appreciation for the way my life was changed as a result of my time here.
Being Homecoming Queen is not just about the crown or the title; it’s about representing our university and embracing the spirit of our Bulldog family. You have served this university in so many beautiful ways, and I know that those opportunities have only amplified your love for MSU. You may think you can’t love this special place anymore, but I promise this week will give you countless more reasons to. As the day approaches, I encourage you to think about your time at MSU and the impact that it has had on your life. Reflect on the experiences, memories, and friendships you’ve been blessed with.
On the day of, soak in every single moment because it goes by so fast! As you walk down the field, take a minute to look around, and as you sing the Alma Mater, sing it loud and proud. These are the moments that you will cherish forever. I still think back to that feeling as I walked across the field with a heart full of love and eyes filled with tears of thankfulness, and I cannot help but smile. I could not be prouder of you, Abigail, and the wonderful representation you are of our incredible home. Stop for every photo and hug with little girls who think you are a princess and alumni who share the bond of MSU with you.
It is the people that make the place, and we are blessed with the best people on earth here at Mississippi State University. I hope with all my heart that this experience is at the top of your fondest memories list just as it is for me.
