2009 Alumni Fellows honored
The 2009 Alumni Fellows were honored with on-campus activities Nov. 12-14, 2009, in conjunction with the MSU vs. Alabama football game. Fellows were asked to share their specialized academic and work experience with students and faculty during a series of various classroom and lecture-type settings.

Linton supports Bulldog athletics in new way
Dr. Rusty Linton is a huge supporter of Mississippi State University athletics on and off the field. Since 1990, he has been caring for MSU athletes as a team physician. The well-known orthopedic surgeon and his wife, Danielle, have taken their Bulldog enthusiasm and loyalty a step further by establishing an athletic support fund at the university.

Alumni Association membership tops 33,800 in October
In January, the MSU Alumni Association set a goal to have 30,500 active members by the end of 2009. As of October 31, there are over 33,800 active members. Over 4,000 individuals have joined since the end of August.

Alumni Association to host Egg Bowl tailgate
The MSU Alumni Association will host its final "Tailgate Tent" of the season on Saturday, Nov. 28, prior to the home game verses arch rival, Ole Miss. The tailgate will be located in The Junction under the big-top tent in front of the Leo Seal M-Club. All Bulldog fans are encouraged to stop by the tent for pre-game festivities.

In 1935, MSU school administrators, H. F. "Slim" Allen and L.G. Balfour developed the official Mississippi State University class ring, which has become a time honored tradition for alumni.

MSU Foundation unveils $100 million fundraising initiative
During the Oct. 16 investiture, Mississippi State University's 19th president, Dr. Mark E. Keenum, announced an aggressive new fundraising effort led by the MSU Foundation. StatePride: An Initiative for Student and Faculty Support is a four-year goal that seeks to provide $100 million in private funds for the university.

SAVE THE DATE: Class reunions set for Super Bulldog Weekend
The classes of 1935, 1940, 1945, 1950, 1955 and 1960 will celebrate their graduation anniversaries during Super Bulldog Weekend 2010. This summer, the Mississippi State University Athletic Department announced the annual spring homecoming weekend will be held April 16-18, 2010.

A special edition coloring book for Bulldog youngsters is now on sale various Starkville locations. This 12-page activity book features different scenes and fan favorites, as well as several academic opportunities offered at MSU.

G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Center for America's Veterans
Mississippi State University is the proud home of many men and women who serve our nation in one of the arms of the United States military forces. In 2006, the university founded the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Center for America's Veterans to provide student support services focused on the special needs and requirements of today's military veteran, servicemember, dependent and survivor.

Maroon Fridays are sweeping the Bulldog nation
MSU Athletics has recently launched a spirit initiative to show pride in Mississippi State at home, at work and around the world. In an effort to show off the Bulldog loyalty, pride and passion, Greg Byrne, director of athletics, announced that MSU Athletics staff would wear maroon every Friday, 52 weeks a year. We in the Alumni Association join the Athletic Department in encouraging all of our alumni and friends around the country to wear maroon each and every Friday.

"New Era" T-shirt now available online
This year the Alumni Delegates are helping Mississippi State bring in a "new era" by sponsoring a t-shirt that features all of the new university spirit logos. The "New Era" T-shirt, on sale now at Barnes and Noble on campus, is a white tee featuring the new logos in maroon.
