He has been employed at MSU since 1996, when he worked as a guest relations assistant for the MSU alumni office. In 1999, Michael became the assistant coordinator of chapter programs for the Alumni Association until 2001, when he became the coordinator of chapter programs.
In his role with the association, Michael provides support, guidance and advice to the leaders of over 90 alumni chapters around the world by helping them coordinate activities and events in their local areas. He also assists with annual chapter recognition and alumni awards programs, as well as working with the Office of Admissions and Scholarships to coordinate using alumni for student recruiting.
“I am proud to be a member of the Bulldog family because it has made me who I am today,” Michael said. “My wife, my friends, my job and all the great memories that I have are results of my 25-year relationship with Mississippi State University.”
Originally from Jackson, Miss., Michael has a wife, Amanda, and a son, Holden. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, as well as playing board games, watching sports and movies, and taking part in any MSU-related activities. Michael says of his 25 years of Bulldog memories, graduating with his master’s degree is near the top of his list.
“I can still remember walking across the stage in the Humphrey Coliseum and feeling so accomplished, yet so humbled, as I shook the hand of the MSU president, Dr. Malcolm Portera,” Michael said. “I had met Dr. Portera before on a few different occasions, but on that day, at that time, his hand-shake was stronger and more powerful to me than ever!”
Michael’s office is located in the Hunter Henry Center and he can be reached at email@example.com. The Alumni Association thanks Michael for his service to our alumni, friends and students.
