University to host spring events for new, prospective students
The MSU Office of Admissions and Scholarships is planning for the annual spring recruiting activities for incoming and prospective students.
The colleges are hosting Academic Insight events this spring, which will target newly admitted freshmen. Invitations will be sent in early spring. The dates include:
Feb. 9
Morning – Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Forest Resources
Afternoon – James Worth Bagley College of Engineering
Feb. 23
Morning – College of Arts and Sciences and undeclared majors
Afternoon – College of Architecture, Art and Design
April 6
Morning – College of Business
Afternoon – College of Education
Admissions and Scholarships will also host a spring Preview Day for high school juniors on Monday, March 18. Students and parents are invited to campus for a day to see all MSU has to offer. Students will meet with representatives from each of the colleges, check out the new residence halls, tour the campus, and see the Sanderson Center. Invitations will be mailed in February, and cost is $10 per person to attend this event.
On April 15, Mississippi State will welcome incoming Shackouls Honors College students during a special orientation event. Honors Orientation will feature a variety of information sessions for both students and parents. Students will schedule their classes for the fall semester, as well as interact with university administrators who will provide an overview of the honors experience.
In addition to these events, the Office of Admissions and Scholarships will host PTK day on May 13, a transfer orientation for Phi Theta Kappa members. Invitations for both Honors Orientation and PTK Day will be mailed in the spring.
