MSU homecoming to take place Oct. 20
Mississippi State University is celebrating its annual fall homecoming the week of Oct. 14-20. Celebrations will kick off on Sunday evening with a special service in the Chapel of Memories, and will end with a football game against Middle Tennessee.
Several activities will take place throughout the weekend, including a movie night in the Junction, battle of the bands, parade and pep rally. The Alumni Association will also host its tailgate tent on Saturday before the game. The tent will open at 3 p.m. and features free barbeque, drinks and entertainment.
This year’s homecoming theme is “Hail Dear ‘Ole State,” a nod to the university’s official fight song. MSU will also crown the 2012 homecoming queen, Caty Steele, and honor the homecoming court during halftime of the football game. Mr. MSU, Morgan McDowell, and Miss MSU, Sara Vance, will also be recognized.
