Friday, May 10, 2013 Dawgs on the road again The Mississippi State University Alumni Association and Bulldog Club embarked on the 2013 Road Dawgs Tour Monday, May 6, with a dinner in Atlanta, Ga. Head coaches Dan Mullen, Rick Ray and Vic Schaefer are headlining the 13-stop tour, which will include visits to 10 Mississippi cities, as well as stops in Memphis, Tenn., and Houston, Texas. Summer Orientation beginning in June Orientation at Mississippi State is a great time for incoming students and parents to become better acquainted with the university, the campus and the Starkville community. The university officially welcomes its new class of students and parents during this time through exciting activities, events, information sessions and class registration. From chats with Orientation Leaders to meetings with university administrators, Orientation will provide an overview of the journey that lies ahead. Tuesday, May 07, 2013 Registration extended for Send-off Parties For the eighth summer in a row, MSU alumni chapters will host annual Send-off Parties around the nation. The events, which encourage excitement and enthusiasm about attending Mississippi State University, are held for new and prospective students, parents, alumni and friends. Monday, April 29, 2013 Chapters to celebrate Mississippi at community picnics Summertime provides the perfect atmosphere for gathering family and friends. The MSU Alumni Association and several of its chapters has a long tradition of hosting summer picnics that not only bring together Bulldogs of all ages, but also celebrate our beloved home state of Mississippi. Graduating seniors honored by university The MSU Alumni Association welcomed the newest members to the Bulldog alumni family at a special event on April 16. Adding to the over 125,000 living alumni, nearly 1,000 students attended the event held at the Hunter Henry Center courtyard. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 Alumni Association awards meritorious faculty The Mississippi State University Alumni Association is honoring three esteemed faculty members with a special recognition on Thursday, April 25. From the College of Business, Dr. Joel Collier, a marketing professor, is being presented the Graduate Teaching Excellence Award. The Early Career Undergraduate Teaching Award goes to physics instructor, Josh Winter, and Dr. Gary Ervin was named Outstanding Graduate Student Mentor. Winter and Ervin are both from the College of Arts and Sciences. Friday, April 12, 2013 Alumni Association names new student Delegates Twenty-two Mississippi State students have joined the Alumni Association’s student group. The Alumni Delegates serve as liaisons between the 135-year-old land-grant institution and its more than 125,000 living graduates. Founded in 1980, one of the group’s main missions is helping improve the student body's understanding of the Alumni Association's role and purpose. Monday, April 01, 2013 Association working toward 2013 membership goal The Alumni Association recently set its 2013 membership goal as 44,000 active members by December 31. For the last several years, the association has surpassed its goal, with a record breaking 43,568 active members in 2012. As of April 30, the 2013 active membership total stands at 27,318, which is 62 percent of the total goal. Thursday, March 28, 2013 Association provides chapter recognition information Each February, Mississippi State recognizes its outstanding chapters during the annual alumni awards banquet. Representatives are presented with a gold, silver or bronze cowbell recognizing their efforts in member involvement and activities. Honor chapters are also recognized with a special banner. Thursday, March 14, 2013 Career Center provides support for alumniStudents and alumni can readily benefit from one of the university’s most important resources for career counseling and employment opportunities. The MSU Career Center, housed in the beautifully renovated Montgomery Hall, provides services, programs and events to assist the Bulldog family’s career development needs. Thursday, March 07, 2013 M-State tags available in three states Show your support for Mississippi State University by purchasing a trademark license plate for your personal vehicle.
