MSU to offer state’s only petroleum engineering degree
The James Worth Bagley College of Engineering at Mississippi State University will offer the state’s only degree in petroleum engineering, the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning board of trustees announced on Nov. 20, 2014.

MSU announces National Alumnus, other alumni honorees
Mississippi State University will host the annual Alumni Association Awards Banquet on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, to recognize the most outstanding and dedicated alumni of the institution. Among the honorees is Earnest W. “Earnie” Deavenport Jr. of Kiawah Island, S.C., a 1960 chemical engineering alumnus who was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science by MSU in 2011. He will receive the university’s highest alumni honor as the 2015 National Alumnus of the Year.

Volunteer Spotlight – Donna Hawkins McNeece
A 1978 alumna is currently leading the local alumni chapter in Lee County. A Native of Tupelo, Mississippi, Donna Hawkins McNeece is a self proclaimed lifelong bulldog, whose love and devotion for her alma mater has grown exponentially since graduation.
