- We are very proud of our Shackouls Honors College, which enrolls more than 1,000 academically talented students in small classes. The college is designed specifically to foster inquiry and in-depth learning. Griffis Hall serves as the honors residence hall and also houses Shackouls offices.
- Campus safety and security is a priority at Mississippi State. All residence halls have controlled card-reader access, fire extinguishers and a state-of-the-art fire security system. Individual rooms are equipped with smoke detectors and dead-bolt locks.
- MSU Police offer Cops-on-Bikes, Residence Hall Adopt-a-Cop, Operation Identification, community policing, and library patrol to make sure our students feel safe.
- All residence halls have laundry facilities, security systems, heating and air conditioning, and many have wireless Internet access in lobbies and lab areas. Rooms offer refrigerator/freezer/microwave units, high-speed Internet service, and super basic cable TV hook-ups/HBO.
